Tera & Coco : in which the Foundation is named after. Tera & Coco Horses & Dreams Foundation was started by several members of Stampede Auction after Tera & Coco’s Story was ran on Stampede in Nov of 2005. I placed the story in hopes of helping to sell some of the
older kid proofed horses that were up for auction on the site. What happened after... was truely amazing...I wrote the story , it touched so many peoples hearts , remembering back to their own childhood & their own first horse that many said we have to do something ! It has been a joint effort to start Tera & Coco Horses & Dreams Foundation. The following is the story which was listed.
The Photo to the Left is of Tera & some of her & Coco's awards they have won .
Tera is now 4 yrs old , Coco is 20 yrs old
Title: A Little Cowgirls Heart
Item: This Listing is in Hopes that if you are thinking of passing up that old mare or gelding or that special horse you found here on Stampede or found at some ranch for the kids for this Christmas .....WELL...
We Hope Tera & Coco’s Story will help you Follow Your Heart and find that special horse....There is nothing for sale in this listing...... just the sharing of love and A Special Friendship between one Old Chestnut mare and as of this Nov a 3 year old Cowgirl named Tera.
Tera (our granddaughter) was only 9 months old when I received a phone call from our daughter, Crystal...........she says," Mom you have to come see this mare I found for Tera"....... You have got to be kidding me Crystal , Tera is only 9 months old! Yes, but you know how she is... has a fit every time we take her off the horse. This mare would be PERFECT for Tera!!! ........... So as most Grandmothers would do , I went to look at this mare. My daughter was so excited aboutttt......... OMG.....she was a rack of bones..... big old’ head, and she was soooo ugly. I had never seen such a sad looking horse in my life....... Then Crystal stood by the mare with Tera in her arms , this old mare put her big old head right in that baby's arms, my heart just melted and my 9 month old grand baby had this huge smile on her face , I knew right then we were taking Coco home.........
5 months later & a good 400 lbs on Coco , Tera & Coco had their first show....... Tera is the youngest RIDER & MEMBER in California State Horsemans Assoc. History! ....Tera was just 14 months old her first show with Coco.........I must say the judges were a bit worried as we walked into the arena with Tera & Coco ...... She is too young to be in a riding class......... is what the Judges had to say.....and what most of you may be thinking right now..........I am leading the mare and my daughter will walk next to Tera during the class , we do not allow her to ride without both of us having hands on the mare and Tera............... The Judges though very worried, did allow Tera to show. There was nothing they could find in the rule book to disallow her from showing........ And they did try and find an age limit.........Tera & Coco WON FIRST PLACE, their FIRST show and went on to show the whole year with Calif State Horsemans Assoc... Taking home several first place ribbons........ Tera & Coco’s 2nd year showing they showed under Calif State Horsemans Assoc in both Western Pleasure and Gymkhana........ Winning their First Real Silver Buckle and Championship ....... Tera was only 22 months old.
This past season Tera turned 3 years old and at the end of the show season in Nov 2005 , Tera and Coco were Nevada Bandit’s Reserve Champion in Gymkhana lead line...... Although Tera and Coco can now ride without Grandma's or Mom’s help, we felt one more year in lead line was the safe way to go...... Next show season Tera plans on riding Coco in pee-wee class alone without our help.......ha,ha All’s Grandma can say right now is... We Will See?
I only paid $300.00 for this run down , shell of a horse , we feed her , Tera gave Coco her heart and Coco in return has given us and our granddaughter unforgettable memories , we will cherish the rest of our lives.......What is Coco worth today??... Her weight in Gold! ... She is NOT for sale.........So give that horse you have been thinking about a 2nd look. This Little Cowgirl and old run down mare story CAN be your own ....Looking at the listings here on Stampede there are so many great horses just on this site that will take you or your little Cowgirl or Cowboy on their way to their First Championship or just a great Friendship....... if you don’t have all the money right now , email the seller and ask them if they will take payments , most will .......looking for a kids horse ?...... there may be that right horse here on Stampede for you , all you have to do is look .
The First Two pictures are of Tera at her first show........ the 3rd picture is of Tera right after her class was over...... she had to ask the judges for a legal dismount as she lost her ”Binkie” during the class and needed to retrieve it.... long walk back to the gates....ha ha The 4th Picture is of Tera with "Binkie” in mouth sitting, showing us her Championship Ribbon & Championship Silver Buckle she had just won..... The 5th picture is from 2005 when Tera & Coco along with teammate Hood , made the Elko Nevada Newspaper......... I hope you enjoy our Little Cowgirls story and pictures , & this Holiday Season is filled with Joy .......... Now look through Stampede and find that special horse for your family. If you like Tera & Coco’s
story bid away , OUR DREAMS ARE FREE, it won’t cost you a dime........ if you are upset that I posted the story , please email me , I will pull the listing.....Thank You
